People selling Miata's.
You need a reality check...
Just because you see someone posting a 300,000k Miata for $5000 doesn't mean anyone is ever going to pay that. And it doesn't mean your Miata with 150,000k is worth $6000.
Over the last 15 Years I have personally bought and sold 7 Miatas. 1990 to 2008, auto, stick, Brand new 0k to 300000k.
I have an auto search on kijiji and other sites and for some reason this year everyone went crazy with their asking prices.
Here is a rough guideline from my experience.
A 90-93 with ultra low KM in showroom condition= $5000ish
(remember, they were $10k new)
A 90-93 with 150k in typical condition=$2500ish
A 90-93 with 250+K VERY used condition= $1000 to $250 at the scrap yard.
(there is ALWAYS lots of rust at that amount of KM, if you don't think so , look harder)
Often, people search for "199? Miata" and then use the ones they see as if they were "real prices" and list theirs thinking they are offering a great deal. But I ask you to look a little further. Search without the year. I just did a search on Trader and found these good samples:
$5,999 169,500 km 2004 MIATA
$5,999 157,000 km 1996 MIATA
$6,000 250,000 km 1993 Miata
How are 2 Miatas 10 years and 100k apart worth the same amount?
Point is. You are all way out of line in your prices...
